No two CMs in Manipur: MPP

Expressing concern of possible bifurcation of Manipur, Manipur People's Party MPP) has stated that thdre are presently two chief ministers of the state.
Addressing a press meet at the party's office near Imphal Polo Ground here on Monday afternoon, MPP president Chin-gakham Shyamjai said that union home minister Amit Shah's assurance to look into the activities of Kuki militants in the hill areas, presumably make him the chief minister of the hill areas and CM Biren of the valley.
The presence of two CMs in the state will not be accepted at any cost, he said, adding that it would be best for CM Biren to take a concrete de cision on the matter and solve the crisis including opening the blockade on NH-2 .
Further stating that the demand of ten national parties to replace CM Biren is not reasonable, especially at this juncture; Shyamjai said MPP will neither accept the replacement nor tolerate any attempt to disturb the integrity of Manipur which has been in existence for over 4000 years.
Questioning the union home minister whether the deployment of central forces to aid Kuki militants is in consideration of the harvest time of poppy plants; the MPP president strongly condemned use excessive force by central forces such as AR and RAF on unarmed civilians particularly the womenfolk.
He then said that the party shares the suffering of the displaced people and urged the CM to solve the crisis and help the displaced return to their original places.
