SDSA flays obstruction by Army

Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) and its federating units comprising Mao Students' Union Maram Students' Union, Poumai Naga Students' Union, Thangal Students' Union and Zelian grong Students' Union, Senapati Zone have strongly condemned restriction imposed on its members by army personnel of 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong on June 24 from proceeding to a Naga village.
Addressing a press meet at its office on Mon day, SDSA president Yonuo Peter recounted that executives and members of the students' bodies were on a goodwill visit to sensitive Naga villages to maintain peace and stability in their jurisdiction during this crucial time.
Decrying the action of the Indian Army for stopping them from proceedjng towards Khunkhu Naga village near the army garri son's gate and subjecting them to irrational questioning between 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on the said day, he called the incident as unfortunate as they were halted even after the student bodies told the army personnel about purpose of their visit.
The incident reportedly took place as the student activists were returning back after visiting Konsaram Naga village where one Naga house was torched by Kuki mob.
