Police Control Room (PCR), Manipur Police has stated that the situation in Manipur is tense but under control in most of districts with almost no untoward incident during the last 24 hours.
The State police and Central Forces are continuously conducting patrols, flag marches and cordon and search operations in vulnerable areas in both the hill and valley districts, said PCR in a press note.
During the past 24 hours, State police and Central forces conducted search operations in vulnerable and fringe areas of Imphal West, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts, it said.
About 110 checkpoints were installed in both the affected hill and valley districts and 185 persons were detained by police for violating curfew, it said.
PCR further said that movement of essential items is ensured along National Highway-37.A total of 300 loaded vehicles left Jiribam for Imphal and 356 loaded vehicles left Noney for Imphal today, it said.
It also appealed to the public to extend all possible help in bringing normalcy in the State and asked to dial rumour free number 9233522822 to clarify any rumour from the Central Control Room.
PCR also went on to appeal to all concerned to return and deposit arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or security forces immediately.
