Awareness prog on PMEGP held

Imphal, October 13 2023: Under the sponsorship of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Directorate of Trade, Commerce and Industries organised one-day state level workshop cum district level awareness programme on Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) at the Lamphelpat office of the directorate, here, on Friday.

Textiles, Commerce and Industries commissioner Pradip Kumar Jha and Trade, Commerce and Industries director Yumnam Robita attended the programme as chief guest and president respectively while SBIRBO Imphal assistant general manager H Okendro and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) director AS Dewan were present as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradip Kumar emphasised the importance of the programme, which aims to create awareness about benefits one can avail under the scheme which envisions employment generation projects with financial assistance along with subsidy.

He stressed the need for cooperation from banks in making the scheme successful and supporting small enterprises in both rural and urban areas.
