Bodies announce cancelation of festivals

In solidarity with the 'brothers and sisters of the land' during this challenging time and recognising the importance of collective strength and empathy, All Manipur Teli Association (AMTA) has suspended Chhatt Puja (Ganga Puja) and Diwali celebration for this year.
In a release, AMTA noted that Manipur is facing an unprecedented challenge, and fellow brothers and sisters are bearing the brunt of the unrest situation.
The absence of traditional festivities may cause disappointment, but they are encouraging the members and the community at large to embrace the spirit of compassion, love and selflessness that these festivals represent, it maintained, while adding that they believe that the decision to suspend Chhat Puja and Diwali celebrations serves as a testament of their unwavering commitment for the Welfare and unity of the society.
Meanwhile, Sagolband Apunba Lup (SALUP) stated that Ningol Chakkouba will not be celebrated in Sagolband area in view of the present unrest in the state.
