MNCA Plate Tournament : All-round Jodiba steers CDCC to huge 212 -run victory over YPHUC

Jodiba struck a half century and enjoyed a fifer as CDCC-Sagolband crushed YPHUC-Lalambung by 212 runs in a Group A fixture of the 8th MNCA Plate Tournament at Kongba Dhobi Lampak.
Put in to bat first, CDCC rode on half centuries from Priyojit (55 off 59 balls) and Jodiba (37-ball 52) and significant knocks from Viking (31) and Khurshid (31 not out) to gather 273 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs.
Jodiba (5/5 in 8 overs that include 5 maiden) and Robert (3/9 in 4.1 overs) then left the YPHUC batters in tatters and skittled them out for just 61 runs in 24.1 overs to earn the massive win.

Birbal was the pick of the YPHUC bowlers having grabbed 3 wickets for 42 runs while four other bowlers claimed a wicket each.
In reply, Birbal emerged the only double digit run scorer with 18 runs to his name as Jodiba and Robert combined well.
Khursid also managed a wicket in YPHUC innings.
Jodiba who led the YPHUC demolition after a quickfire 52 and a five wicket haul was eventually adjudged man of the match.
In another Group A match which was staged at Moijing Public Ground, SSU-Singjamei notched up an 8-wicket win over KCDO-Kongpal.
SSU chose wisely to field first and bowled out KCDO for just 82 runs within 21.4 overs with Saikhom (3/21 in 5 overs), Deepankar (3/13 in 2.4 overs) and Bolanath (2/13 in 6 overs) running through their line up with ease and chase down the target (86) in 15.1 overs with 8 wickets left to spare.
Lucky Thokchom (18), Bikram Singh (11) and N Prakash (13) had the most runs for the Kongba side before Robertson (21), Deepankar (28), Somorjit (14) and Sanjoy led SSU to victory.
Deepankar was adjudged man of the match.
In a Group A match played at Lairenjam Public Ground, KIYC-Kshetrigao played out a tie with OSCAR-Paona Bazar .
Put in to bat first, KIYC collected 133 for all wickets down in 19.4 overs despite Geetchandra 33 not out, Rajiv 23 and Akip 30 setting the tone early as Rinku (6/56), Samson (2/7) and Boocker (2/20) wreaked havoc with their magical spells.
In reply, OSCAR saw their batters falter badly and ended up only equalling KIYC total as Rajiv of KIYC led an impeccable bowling effort and returned with a five wicket haul.
Sanjit 34, Bijendro 26 and Samsin 18 were among the main run getters in the chase.
Rinku of OSCAR was named man of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, IBSA-Yumnam Leikai sealed a narrow one wicket win over SHADOW-Thangmeiband by cruising to a winning 94 in 28.3 overs after SHADOW were bundled out for 91 runs in 18.1 overs.
Pravesh (5/23) and Bhumendro (3/12) were impressive with their bowling to hold SHADOW for a paltry total.
James and Reolin added identical 22 for SHADOW as Aslam added 17 runs.
In reply, Nelson (24) added the highest before things went downhill but significant extras and low total proved SHADOW costly and eventually went down by a wicket.
