Meeting of Curriculum and Syllabus Committee held

A preliminary sitting of the newly re constituted Curriculum and Syllabus Committee of State Council of Educational and Research Training (SCERT) was held at the conference hall of Old Secretariat, here, on Tuesday in the presence of education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh to discuss and dissect the overall curriculum/syl-labus for classes from preschool to VIII in the context of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.In a release, SCERT joint secretary Laishram Dolly conveyed that during the meeting, minister Basanta held in-depth discussion on addressing various issues besetting the department.
The minister also shared his views on the changing matrix of the society and expressed the need to reflect the same in the curriculum/syllabus of the state too.
The release also mentioned that the meeting was attended by SCERT commissioner H Gyanprakash, director Dr A Chinglenkhomba Meetei, education (S) director L Nandakumar, YAS director T Phulen Meitei, members of the reconstituted committee and officials of different departments.
