Senapati, November 07 2023:
Rikhumai Taphou Village Authority Council (RTVAC), Rikhumai Taphou Youth & Students' Organisation (RTYSO), Rikhumai Taphou Women's Society (RTWS) and Senapati District Women's Association condemned the act of dropping cell phones of two missing teenagers from Imphal near a fuel pump opened under Rikhumai Taphou jurisdiction.
The missing Meetei youth were reportedly kidnapped while they were on their way to Sekmai from Imphal on November 5 .
In a condemnation note, RTVAC chairman P Johna said the act of placing cell phones with ulterior motive has created trust deficit between different communities living harmoniously for years apart from maligning the good image of the village in particular and its people in general living in the village's vicinity.
The village authority council and its subordinates also appealed to law enforcing agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter including facts and circumstances that led to dropping of the phones.
It also said that perpetrators should be identified and booked at the earliest possible time and punished so that such incidents could be avoided in future.
