KSO tenders apology, ZSF accepts

In response to Monday night's escalation of tension and violence between Kuki and Zomi communities at Churachandpur town, leaders of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) GHQ issued a formal apology to Zomi Students' Federation (ZSF) on behalf of the violent mob.
The clashes left several people, mostly from Zomi community injured.
Leaders of both sides had a joint meeting at the office of Zomi Council Steering Committee (ZCSC) on Tuesday at 4:30 pm to address the aftermath of the violent incident that occurred on Monday night.
KSO leaders, expressing their willingness to apologise, sought reconciliation with the leaders of ZSF.
The Zomi Civil Society leaders accepted the apology and issued a joint declaration after the meeting.
The joint declaration acknowledged and accepted the apology tendered by KSO GHQ in accordance with tribal traditional customs.
Both student organisations affirmed their commitment to upholding peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
Furthermore, they agreed that no individual or group should incite hatred among the communities in the future.
