CBSE revokes affiliation of 25 CCpur, Kpi schools

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has withdrawn affiliation of as many as 25 schools from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts, which were affiliated to the board amidst the ethnic violence without the alleged knowledge and consent of the government of Manipur.
Confirming revocation of the affiliation by CBSE with immediate effect , a statement of joint secretary (education) said that No Objection Certificate (NOC) submitted by the 25 schools to CBSE for affiliation were not issued by authorised functionaries of the government and state education minister had submitted a written complaint regarding the matter to CBSE on December 16.The schools from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts which the CBSE had withdrawn affiliation are St Peter school.
Sokholal Ideal High School, Excel Foundation School, Ebenezer Academy, TL Salom Academy, Convention English High School-Sinzwal, Siamsinpawlpi residential school, Salt Brook school, Young learners' school, Eston hall school, the Dawn school, Happy heart school, Harmon English school, Kaikho-En academy, Good Samaritan public school, BK Taona high school, Lighthouse school, Two-in-one Omega public school and kindergarten, Lunkhosat memorial English high school, Christian English high school, Elite higher secondary school, LL Henzou English high school, Diamond English high school, LM English high school and MBC higher secondary school.
The statement further said that necessary action will be initiated against schools which violated rules and regulations of the CBSE or state government and such actions will also be initiated against any school found flouting government rules in future.
Mention may be made that a total of 29 schools of Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts were found affiliated to CBSE recently and investigation into the matter unravelled that NOC were issued by Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) concerned and by the govern ment as is the formal process for affiliation to CBSE.
CBSE record says that 14 out of the total 29 school were affiliated to CBSE before the violence in April this year.
Of the 16 schools of Churachandpur district newly affiliated to CBSE, affiliation approval for five schools were given after the violence and approval for 11 schools were given before the violence but beginning from April this year.
Of the total 13 schools of Kangpokpi district which got CBSE affiliation recently, approval of 10 schools were found to be given after the violence and three schools be fore the violence but beginning from April this year.
One N Tikendrajit Singh is ZEO of Churachandpur district but he did not sign on the NOCs submitted by the schools which got CBSE affiliation.
Apart from using the term 'for' in place of N Tikendrajit Singh's signature, different signatures were found signed on different NOCs.
NOCs for 13 schools in Kangpokpi district were signed by incumbent ZEO Lingtinneng Singsit.
Applications of a few schools of Kangpokpi had copies of letters addressed to state education commissioner seeking NOC for CBSE affiliation.
