MPSC, KSDO & PCC enjoy big wins in MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

Imphal, December 19 2023:
MPSC (Manipur Central Jail), KSDO (Kiyamgei) and PCC (Mayai Koibi) emerged easy winners in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 on Tuesday.
MPSC enjoyed a massive 127-run victory over KIYC (Kshetrigao) in their league match at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill, Cherapur.
Electing to bat, MPSC put up a score of 198 for 4 as Gelson Singh Thoudam took centre stage with a blistering knock of 80 off 44 balls.
Other significant contributors in the MPSC innings were Sagolsem Sunil Singh (34), Soubam Kingson Singh (30 not out), Sarangthem Shangker Singh (22) and Chingangbam Lokeshwor Singh (13).In the process, MPSC lost a wicket each to Wakip Sheikh, Md Abdulla Khan, Ahanthem Mangesh and Md Kaosar.
In reply, KIYC wilted under pressure and e nded up managing just 71 after they were bowled out in 14.2 overs.
In the chase, Md Kaosar (17) was the lone scorer in double digits.
Maibam Bijoykumar Singh dazzled with a haul of 6 wickets for MPSC, while Gelson Thoudam shone with 3 scalps and Sarangthem Shangker claimed one wicket for their big triumph.
KSDO, on the other hand, beat PSC (Khuyathong) by 98 runs at Lairen jam Public Ground.
Asked to bat first, KSDO posted a total of 192 for 5.In the innings, Khushru Pravez top-scored with 58, Tarique Aziz was unbeaten on 45, Abdul Rafique made 26, Nawaz contributed 22 and Md Arif Khan scored 18.For PSC, Laishram Devwart Singh grabbed 2 wickets while Lamabam Martin, Ibungomacha Hijam and Tongbram Sagar each bagged one wicket.
In their response, PSC failed to cross the 100-run mark despite facing the complete 20 overs.
Their run chase stalled at 94 for 9.Rajkumar Surchand (18 not out), Lamabam Martin (16), Thokchom Lellel (11) and Tongbram Sagar (11) were the batters who could score in double figures.
Khushru Pravez spearheaded the KSDO bowling attack, taking four wickets to assist his team win.
Shajahan, who got two wickets, and Lakibur also contributed to KSDO's success.
At Oriental College, PCC registered a 78-run win over THAU (Thangmeiband).
Batting first, PCC piled up a total of 219 for 9 courtesy of Chingakham Ranjan (75), Takhelmayum Vikash (41), Huidrom Dhanashyam Meitei (23), Charoibam Tyson (15) and Longjam Gibson (14).The Mayai Koibi team then reduced THAU to 141/7 in the allotted 20 overs.
The PCC trio of Thokchom Anand, Longjam Gibson and Pravin Kumar snapped 2 wickets each while L Chingheihunba Meitei took one to propel their side to a comprehensive victory.
In THAU's run chase, Diamond (34), K Aden (26 not out), Napolean (17) and Sanjeev (16) were the main run-getters.
Earlier, Khumukcham Romesh picked up 3 wickets, N Surash claimed 2 and Khundrakpam Aden got one for THAU.
