Missed call campaign extended till Dec 30

The timeline of the mass missed call campaign initiated in line with the demand to add Meetei/Meitei in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) list of the Constitution has been extended by another 10 days till December 30 .
The campaign which kicked off on November 20 was supposed to end tomorrow (December 20) but it has been extended till December 30 as per the wishes of the people, said Meetei (Meitei) Tribe Union (MTU) in a statement.
The miss call campaign is spearheaded by MTU, Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) and World Meetei Council (WMC) under the theme "Campaign for a better Manipur with equal status" .
Saying that they get constant support from people in the intellectual circle and different professions, academicians, bureaucrats, stu- dents, daily wagers, farmers and common men while carrying out the campaign, the Union continued that the Meeteis/Meiteis need to be enlisted in the ST list to secure their future.
MTU further said that the sense of oneness among the indigenes will be strengthened if the Meeteis/Meiteis are given the ST tag.
Thanking all the supporters, the MTU appealed all to continue supporting the movement.
