Imphal, August 18 2023:
Charging the BJP government of giving free hand to Kuki MLAs which led to their continuous attempt to destroy the territorial integrity of Manipur, CPI Manipur state council has questioned as to why the 10 Kuki MLAs have not been disqualified till now.
Speaking to this daily, CPI Manipur state council assistant secretary M Joy-kumar Luwang said that despite the party urging the state and central government to take up measures to resolve the prevailing crisis, nothing has been taken up till this day.
Though the BJP government at the Centre had spoken up over the state's crisis, yet there is fear that BJP would put into action its hidden agenda over the Manipur crisis.
He further informed that the Kuki MLAs have been taking up activities at their discretion following the free hand provided by BJP government.
The 10-Kuki MLAs have been continuously trying to disintegrate the state by even demanding separation from Manipur.
They have also demanded two chief secretary and DGP in Manipur which is against the provisions of the Indian Constitution.
M Joykumar also pointed out the case of providing health cards to Meeteis of Moreh town who are currently staying in relief camps in Imphal wherein the addresses of the Meetei beneficiaries were renamed as Kuki villages and said that such incidence has clearly indicated that there is no effective administration in the state.
The renaming of Meetei localities in Moreh by Kuki names should be investigated and necessary corrective measures should be taken up, he added.
