Manipuri Language Day to be held at Tripura

The 32nd edition of Manipuri Language Day will be celebrated at different places in Tripura to commemorate the inclusion of Manipuri language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
In a press release, the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum Tripura Secretary informed that the Forum in association with Khowai Meira Paibi and All Khowai Meitei Apunba Lup will be organising Manipuri Language Day celebration at Khowai New Town hall under Khowai district, Tripura wherein Manipuri cultural and musical programmes will be conducted.
The celebration will be followed by a public rally at Khowai town by the Meitei community of Khowai district demanding restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur and protection of integrity and unity of Manipur.
On the other hand, the Manipuri Language Day will also be celebrated at Golaghati Meitei Mandap under Bishalgarh Sub-division jointly organised by Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup and the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum Tripura.
A variety of musical programmes will be showcased during the celebration and copies of the book 'Eyek Erol Ahanba' will be distributed so as to help in the learning of Meitei Mayek.
