Randomisation of EVMs/VVPATs today

Kangpokpi, March 22 2024:
District election officer/deputy commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari on Friday announced the dates for the district's first randomisation of EVMs/VVPATs and training for poll personnel, ahead of the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Elections 2024.Addressing media persons at his office chamber, the DEO/DC informed that the first randomisation of EVMs/VVPATs will be held on Saturday followed by first round of training for polling personnel for Kangpokpi district on March 24 at the district headquarters.
Around 551 women and 486 male polling personnel will be trained under the guidance of DEO/DC regarding the EVMs/VVPATs and election process, among others.
Mahesh Chaudhari further informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has allowed displaced people of different villages to vote at special polling stations.
Kangpokpi district will have total number of 24 special polling stations, the highest in the state.
The district has 166 normal polling stations as per the latest Special Summary Revision (SSR), he added.
The press briefing was also attended by all the senior officers of the district.
