Training for presiding officers, polling officers begins

Ahead of the Lok Sabha-2024 elections, Senapati district election officer (DEO) conducted the first round of training for polling personnel along with sector officers on Friday.
As master trainers Senapati SDO S Lunguiba Thangal, ADC/ADM Azingwungshi Nimmi Khamrang, PD-DRDA PP Ronald, ADC/ADM (Mao) Ningreingam Leisan, SDO (Paomata) Reikimdaar Khaling, AC to DC Sheveine, SDC (Senapati) Ngaonii Panii and Junior DO/PO A Nganio Mickey Pao elaborated to the participants on roles of presiding officers and polling personnel as well as highlighted the activities to be carried out on the dispersal day and polling day.
EVM master trainers Kamei Manganchao, K Dihe, S Luilu Kuanamei and Kay-izii also imparted hands-on training on operating EVM and VVPAT to the polling personnel, numbering 570, including 10 sector officers.
The first round of training sessions for the remaining polling personnel will continue on March 27 and 28.On the other-hand, the first round of training for presiding officers and polling officers in connection with the ensuing General Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 for Bishnupur district was conducted on Friday at CI College.
AROs (Bishnupur AC) Rishikanta Loitongbam, (Nambol & Oinam) S Indrajit Singh, (Moirang & Kumbi) M Suranjoy Singh and (Thanga AC) junior BDO M Ricky Singh were overall in charge of the training programmes, conducted of which was inspected by additional district election officer Hanjabam Bobby Sharma.
Altogether 239 presiding and polling officers, who attended the training in the morning session, were briefed about their roles and responsibilities with respect to the conduct of election.
The training also aimed at preparing the election officials for conduct of free, fair and transparent election.
The next batch of first round training is scheduled on March 23 at Panchayat Resource Centre (PRC), Mini Secretariat Complex, and CI College, Bishnupur for which Bishnupur DEO L Bikram advised officials and staff concerned to attend the training without fail.
