Poll duty to be relaxed for pregnant women

Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subash has announced that pregnant Government employees and mothers with small kids will be relaxed from election duty in 2-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
The Thoubal DC is the Returning Officer (RO) of 2-Outer Parliamentary Constituency of the ensuing Lok Sabha election which will be held in two phases on April 19 and April 26 .
Speaking to the media at his office complex today, Subash said that no poll duty will also be given to those Government employees who will retire within the next six months.
For married couples, if both husband and wife have been appointed for election duty one of them will be relaxed after revision, he added.
Those who seek exemption from poll duty on health grounds will be verified by a medical board, the RO continued and maintained that a meeting of the medical board will be held on March 29 .
He appealed to all Government employees who seek relaxation from election duty to submit their applications before the meeting is convened.
Continuing that a training programme for the polling personnel of the first phase election will be held on March 23, March 24 and March 25 at Thoubal College, Subash appealed to all polling personnel concerned to attend the training programme.
