AMUCO's 'Way Forward' campaign continues

As part of the 'Way Forward' campaign launched by All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Kakching Khunou United Clubs' Organisation (KADUCO) conducted a public meeting at Umathel Bazar community hall, on Thursday.
The public meeting was attended by AMUCO vice president T Gandhi, secretary (organisation) K Santosh, secretary (publicity) Laishram Krishnachandra, Kakching District United Clubs' Organisation president Th Chaoba, KADUCO president M Kumarjit Meitei and senior citizen of the locality Kh Ibobi.
Speaking at the event, AMUCO T Gandhi referred to the 8-point memorandum submitted to the government of India that Manipur is a place inhabited by various communities in peace and harmony since time immemorial.
However, such peaceful coexistence turned sour due to certain reasons, he lamented that called upon all the right-thinking citizens to contribute their mitein resolving the differences.
Gandhi also pointed out the need to shed all differences existing between the varied communities of the state and ensure that the present generation present the much-needed peaceful and harmonious existence to the future generation by protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur.
On Wednesday, AMUCO along with All Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation (AMMPACO) organised the 'Way Forward' campaign at Khelakhong Mamang Leikai with AMUCO vice president S Sanjoy, AMMPACO vice president Yumkhaibam Rahman alias Akuba, and Zila Parishad member Kh Islauddin as the presidium members.
- Speaking at the programme, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Organisation (AMAWOVA) advisor Ch Usharani commended AMUCO for its relentless endeavour to uphold the territorial and emotional integrity of Manipur amongst different ethnic communities'.
It has been taking vital roles in the conflict that erupted since May 3 and has been campaigning for 'No separate administration' along with special discussion programme.
Now AMUCO has been launching 'Way Forward' campaign so as to protect the integrity and territory of Manipur, she noted.
AMUCO publicity secretary Laishram Krishnachandra appealed to authorities concerned for ending the present conflict and brings an everlasting solution.
AMUCO has been exerting pressure to Prime Minister by submitting an 8-point demand and to translate the same into action.
The demand included ending violence, framing popular policy exclusively for welfare of people displaced by the conflict, amending Article 3 of Indian Constitution, implementation of NRG, forming of District Reorganisation Committee and no separate administration among others.
S Sanjoy pointed out that Meetei Pangal community has important role in protecting the integrity and unity of Manipur and also in promoting communal harmony among the different communities.
