Over 300 trucks stranded along NH

Senapati, October 06 2023:
Since October 5 evening, more than 300 goods-laden trucks transporting essential supplies have been stranded along the National Highway in Senapati district due to the indefinite economic blockade called by the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA).
Enraged by the ongoing mobile inter net ban, even in unaffected places such as Senapati district, the district's apex student body is imposing the blockade.
The state government has not responded till the time of filing this article.
According to reports, around 200 goods-laden trucks bound for Imphal are stranded in Mao and state boundary areas, while over 100 goods-laden trucks are stuck in between Mao and Senapati, and approximately 60 trucks along the highway from lower Senapati to T/Khullen.
Mention may be made that SDSA has declared an indefinite economic blockade since October 5 evening in order to pressure the state government to repeal the mobile internet ban, which has been in effect for more than 5 months.
There has been no untoward incident reported in connection with the blockade.
