Condemning the attack, Joykumar asked the group of individuals concerned to clarify the motive behind the attack at the earliest.
Saying that NPP doesn't have any bad blood with any outfit, Joykumar continued that the party has been supporting the village volunteers guarding Meetei villages.
Appealing to the Government to arrest the miscreants who attacked the NPYF office at the earliest, the former Deputy Chief Minister said that they will lodge a complaint to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs so that the NIA can investigate the case if the State Government fails to take action.
He said that the attack at NPYF office might have been carried out by supporters of narco-terrorists who endorse the separate administration demand of Kukis and want to disintegrate Manipur.
Saying that a case has been lodged with Manipur police in connection with the attack, Joykumar asked the State police to investigate the case and take legal action against the miscreants involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, NPYF Manipur president L Jayananda said that the attack at his house and party's youth office was an act of cowardice to suppress the voice of the people.
He said that 10 bullets hit the wall of the NPYF office while another three bullets pierced through the wall and hit the ceiling.
Jayananda continued that the NPP has been working in the interest of the people of Manipur and to safeguard the integrity of the State.
The NPP, however, cannot be subdued by gun and bomb threat and will continue to work for the wellbeing of the masses, he added.
Saying that those who truly want to protect Manipur won't carry out such attacks at this critical juncture, he added that the focus must be on restoring normalcy in Manipur.
He also said that the police didn't come to the site of the incident till late evening even though the attack took place in the wee hours.
Denouncing the attack, a sit-in protest was staged by womenfolk at the residence of Jayananda at Khurai Konsam Leikai today.
