Mount Everest College organises first alumni meet

The Mount Everest College's first Alumni Meet organised by Mount Everest College Alumni Association (MECAA) was held on Friday at the college auditorium under the theme "Reunite to Revitalise".
RL Khay Rong, president MECAA, encouraged alumni friends to reminisce about their college days in his wel-coming note.
He called it a momentous day and invited everyone to reflect on the memories they had made that they would remember forever.
Khay Rong also referred to the alumni as friends because they all belonged to the university, and he welcomed everyone, saying, "Home is where the heart is".
Dr V Alexander Pao, president Mount Everest College, in his speech expressed joy to see the young boys and girls coming together.
Talking about the institution, the president stated that the college was founded in 1999 and it started the BA course in 2000 .
He further said that on Sundays, a special prayer session was held for all of the teachers, faculty members, students, and alumni, who had graduated from the institution.
Dr Alexander also noted with pride that many of the former pupils now hold important and lucrative positions in various fields, including religious leaders all around the world.
He also informed that the college plans to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in early 2025 and invited all to the celebration.
Apart from the IGNOU study facility, the college currently offers BA, BSc, BEd, and postgraduate courses.
So far, it has produced over 4,000 graduates in arts, sciences, and commerce, with the IGNOU Study Centre producing over 800 graduates and 162 postgraduates.
It is also reported that the Mount Everest College provides an alternative learning system for civil services coaching classes.
In his speech, Gonmei Meithuanlungpou, acting principal MEC, referred to the graduates as the institutions fruits.
Every student's success brings satisfaction to the professors and the institution, he said and expressed belief that the alumni meeting could lead to an inductive conclusion because the alumni are all good, obedient, hardworking, and successful in their respective fields.
Several alumni members expressed gratitude for organising such programmes for them, and attributed their success to the college's president, who later presented each alumni member with a souvenir.
Various student talents, such as music and cultural dance, were displayed during the programme.
