Meeteis form human chain across world

Imphal, June 17 2023: In response to the call given by COCOMI to let people across the world know that the ongoing violence in Manipur is a part of narco-terrorism waged by narco-terrorists and illegal immigrants, Meeteis across the world staged human chain protest on Saturday.

As per reports collected from different sources, the human chain protest from 7pm to 8pm was held in many countries of Europe, Atlantic Ocean, Germany, Russia, Bangladesh and Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom.

The same protest was also held in major cities of India like Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati, New Delhi, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Indore, Baroda and Agartala.

In Sylhet city Bangladesh, the protest was held under the banner of 'One voice one movement, safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur, peace for Manipur, we want peace in Manipur' while protestors in Russia held posters some of which read 'Stop Meitei genocide', 'Stop fake propaganda', 'Save Meitei', 'We want peace' and 'Stop violence' while those in the United Kingdom put up placards some of which read 'Save Manipur integrity' and 'Implement NRC in Manipur immediately' .

The human chain formation in major cities of India like Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati, New Delhi, Dehradun .Chandigarh, Indore, Baroda and Agartala were preceded by sit-in-protest with several placards some of which read 'Save us from Narco terrorists', 'Help us Modi Ji', 'Root out Narco terrorism', 'End the terror' 'No more bloodshed', 'Manipur against infiltration not against religion', 'Deliver justice ensure peace', 'Save environment from poppy plantation' and "Save indigenous people from illegal immigrants', 'Stop protecting SoO terrorists' etc.

Meanwhile, large numbers of people came out on the streets at 7pm and join human chain protest at different parts of the state.

The protest under the aegis of COCOMI till 8pm was held at Keishamthong Laisom Leirak, Moi-rangningthou Leirak, Kishamthong top Leirak, Keishamthong Hodam Leirak, Keishamthong Longjam Leirak, Keishamthong Kabui Khul, Yaiskul police lane, Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, Keishamthong Leirak Macha and Achouba, Kkeishamthong Ahan-them Leikai, Keishamthong Thang-jam Leirak, Khagempalli Panthak and Pankha, Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai and Pishumthong Ningom Leirak.

The protest was also held at Meit-ram, Kodompokpi, Malom and nearby areas, Kongpal areas, Sagolband, Tera, Heinoubok, Takyelkhongbal, Sadokpam, Ngairangbam, Langjing Achouba, Keitnelmabi, Naoremthong bazar, Samusang Uku, Lamboikhong-nagkhong, Iroisemba, Heibongpokpi, Lairenkabi, Lamlongei, Sanjengbam, Lamsang, Taothong, Lamdeng, Khu-deiband, Kwakeithel Sega road, Keis-hampat Leimajam Leikai, Keishampat Thiyam Leikai, Keishampat Thokchom Leikai, Keishampat Kangabam Leirak and Wahengbam Leikai.

The protest was held at Lilong, Khongjom, Andro parking, Nongmeibung, Changangei, Konung Mamang, RIMS road crossing, Khoyatnong, Lilasing Khongnangkhong, Thangmeiband, Lalambung, Kangjabi Leirak, Chumbreithong, New Checkon, Hat-ta, Mantripukhri, Chingmeirong, Kwasiphai, Kameng, Sangakpham, Kakching Lamkhai, Bashikhong, Waithou to Wangjing, Khong-man, Pangei, Langthabal, Khurai, Moirang-kampu, Porompat, Telepati, Langmeithek, Mayang Imphal, Iramsiphai, Wangjing Khunou (Wangoo Lamkhai), Sekamijin bazar, Lamphel Sanakeithel and Langol.

The protest was also held in Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur districts.

Local meira paibi groups formed human chain with torch in their hands at Nam-bol, Kiyam, Langpok, Oinam, Irengbam, Yumnam Khunou, Keinou, Toubul, Khoiju-man, Ngaikhongsiphai, Ngachoupokpi, Khwairakpan, Bishnupur, Kwasiphai, Na-chou, Kha Potshangbam, Upokpi, Toupok-pi, Ningthoukhong, Thinungei, Phubala, Naransena, Sunusiphai, Thamnapokpi and Moirang.
