Imphal-CCpur-Kpi-Mao service from December 23

Imphal, December 21 2023:
The state government has taken up steps to resume public transport service along Imphal-Churachandpur and Imphal-Kangpokpi-Mao routes, which was halted since the beginning of the crisis on May 3, by deploying adequate security convoys along the stretch.
According to a notice issued by chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi on Thursday, the Imphal-Kangpokpi - Mao highway and the Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur highway will be operational and opened for all to use.
Additional security forces have been deployed under operational command of IGP (Zone III) Nishit Kumar Ujjwal in respect of Imphal-Kangpokpi-Mao highway and IGP (Zone II/Int/NAB) K Kabib for Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur route.
The notice further stated that for public convenience and security reasons vehicles and trucks should assemble at North AOC from 9 am onwards every day for movement towards Mao via Kangpokpi while vehicles coming to Imphal side shall station at Sen-.
apati town from 9 am onwards.
For movement towards Churachandpur (Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur high way), trucks and vehicles should assemble at Malom from 9 am onwards every day while those coming from Churachandpur to Imphal should assemble at Torbung.
The public notice will be effective from December 23.It may be mentioned that all public transport from Imphal-Churachandpur, Imphal Mao and Imphal to Moreh halted following the ethnic violence since May 3 last.
Later, in district borders of violence hit areas, buffer zones were set up allowing movement of only security and authorised persons.
