National Integration Tour concludes

The National Integration Tour (NIT) for students of Kamjong district was flagged-in by Deputy Inspector General 10 Sector Assam Rifles, Brigadier Vaibhav Shinde today.
The students who were part of the 15-day tour to Maharashtra were accorded a warm welcome during the flagged-in ceremony held at Somsai today.
The tour was organised under Operation Sadhbhavana by 8 Assam Rifles Kamjong under the aegis of IGAR South.
Captain Aman Kumar led the 15 students of three different schools in Kamjong district belonging to Kuki, Nepal and Tangkhul communities.

In today's reception programme, the students shared their experience and said that it was an eye opener for all of them as they got the opportunity of meeting new people and exploring new places and different types of food habits.
During the tour, the students visited prominent places like Naval Dockyard, Indian Navy Ship HAMLA, National Defence Academy, College of Military Engineering, Army Institute of Physical Training, Armed Forces Medical College, Gateway of India, Film City among others.
Apart from visiting the prominent places, the students also came to learn about various career options in the country.
The tour also became a great source of motivation for the students as they had the opportunities to interact with eminent personalities including the high ranking army officers, experts of different field officers and so on.
It is worth noting that the NIT tour was organised as a part of Assam Rifles continuous efforts of integrating the local communities under the theme "Friends of North East" .
The purpose of the tour was to give exposure to the students living in the remote regions providing them opportunity to witness important historical places, heritage and experience the rich diverse culture in order to develop and create a sense of oneness.
Meanwhile, a teacher of St Peter School Kamjong expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for organising the integration tour for the young students and expressed belief that such useful initiatives will continue.
This will definitely promote unity wherever they go and will serve as a great experience for the young students, said the teacher.
Later, the DIG presented mementoes and certificates as a token of remembrance and appreciation of their participation to all students.
