Scheme documents distributed to camp residents

Social Welfare minister Heikham Dingo distributed beneficiary cards of Chief Ministergi Sotharabasingi Tengbang (CMST), Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme (MOAPS) and CM's Widow Pension Scheme (CMWPS) to residents of the relief camp opened at Ideal Girls' College, Akampat, on Thursday.
Speaking at the function organised by Imphal East District Social Welfare Office, minister Dingo iterated that the state government is making all efforts to bring about peaceful solution to the crisis in the state.
The department is also doing its best to address problems faced by residents of relief centres across the state.
As part of the initiative, the social welfare department is making available all the schemes being implemented by the department, he said.
The minister further pointed that in addition to the existing 82,738 beneficiaries of MOAPS, another 1207 relief camp residents have been covered under the pension scheme.
Of the total 10,000 beneficiaries of CM WPS, additional 346 relief camp residents have been provided the benefit while 104 residents have been extended the benefits of the National Family Benefit Scheme.
For the relief camp set up at Ideal Girls' College, 42 resident have been handed over MOAPS cards including one provided CMST card, 25 in possession of CMWPA cards, the minister said while adding that 235, 16 and 92 residents staying in different relief camps in Imphal East have been provided benefits under MOAPS, CMWPS and CMST respectively.
Minister H Dingo also said that four lakh beneficiaries are availing benefits under 'CM Ima Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang' which was launched on the occasion of Nupi Lal Day held recently.
The Akampat function was also attended by Imphal East DC Kh Diana, Social Welfare director Ng Uttam, deputy director L Dhaneshwar, and Imphal East SDO Sapam Jotin among others.
