Month-long training prog concludes

Imphal, December 21 2023:
The month-long training programme on 'Leikoi Khousha' (or Ta-Khoushaba), organised by Kanglei Saktam Langba Kanglup (KSLK) at Haobam Marak under the Art and Culture Department, concluded at Chingtham Mandap, Haobam Marak Irom Leikai on Wednesday.
The programme was supported by the Chief Ministergi Artistsingi Tengbang (CMAT) Scheme, 2022-23 .
The valedictory function was attended by KSLK president Chingtham Birendra Singh as president; Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata Board of Governor state member and theatre critic and playwright Buddha Chingtham as chief guest; and film maker Oken Amakcham as guest of honour.
During this ceremony, the dignitaries emphasised the significance of preserving and promoting Manipur's age-old traditional martial art forms and stressed the importance of imparting these arts to younger generations, not only for self-defence but also to instil values of decorum and respect.
A two-minute silence was observed for paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives du ring on-going conflict.
The event included a demonstration on 'Leikoi Khousa' by the trainees and presentation of KSLK's new production, 'Samoda Damodar' .
