Imphal, July 19 2010: Five top leaders of KCP (Ningamba group) have been apprehended in the course of a sustained CI operation conducted by Imphal West commandos in different parts of the district and beyond during the past one week.

The apprehended leaders are general secretary cum organising secretary Khuraijam Ajit alias Khamba Luwang (42) s/o Kh Chaoba of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Thokchom Leikai, publicity in-charge Moirangthem Mani (39) s/o M Biramani of Kongpal Mamang Sabal Leikai, assistant publicity in-charge RK Sanjeevkumar (37) s/o TK Ruhinikumar of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Khumanthem Poireiton alias Porei alias Thoibi (30) s/o Kh Mani of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Thokchom Leikai and Md Mujibur Shah alias Naocha alias Nanao alias John (32) s/o late Md Tomba Shah of Hatta, New Checkon Road.

A number of articles, documents and gadgets were also seized from their possession, conveyed a press release issued by Imphal West SSP L Kailun.

The list of seized items include one .32 pistol, one Chinese made hand grenade, one laptop computer, one digital camera, one desktop computer set, one computer printer, one book titled Manipur Past and Present, Volume II, written by Naorem Sanajaoba, one book titled An Outline History of Manipur (Kangleipak), one application addressed to General Secretary, UNO, two CDs containing incriminating documents of KCP, one gasolene generator and one Honda Activa without registration number.

A one-page memorandum addressed to the United Nations and one format note of KCP (politburo) addressed to the chairman and general secretary of NSCN (IM) dated September 1, 2008 in the name of secretary, information and public relations department Ibungo Ngangom on behalf of politburoKCP were recovered from their possession in addition to seven blank demand letters and seven blank receipt memos of KCP.
