The Coordination Committee of College Students' Union (CCCSU) today threatened to launch agitation if the government continues to neglect the college education in the state.
Due to negligence on the part of the government towards education, the students are facing difficulties in coping up with semester system which is going to be introduced by the University from the current academic session.
Interacting with the media persons at the DM College of Arts, the convener of CCCSU, S Sangeeta said that all the colleges in the state are facing the similar faiths due to poor infrastructure and negligence on the part of authorities concern.
All the colleges are functioning without regular principals for the last 20 years.
This is a great setback in the education system of the state, she pointed out.
The libraries have no materials consistent with the prescribed syllabus.
No enough space to accommodate all the students in the laboratories apart from outdated equipments.
There is no water and electricity in the laboratories.
Many such and other allied problems are being currently faced by all the colleges of the state.
The lecturers of aided colleges are drawing a meager salary of Rs 1500.As such lecturers are not wiling to teach the students.
While, the MU authority is getting ready to introduce semester system from the current academic session which will add another burden to the students.
Citing the greavances facing by the students, the convener warned that if the government fails to take up measures to solve the shortages and problems being faced by all colleges of the state within August 15 next, they will be compelled to take up protest.
