Imphal, July 19 2010: The Imphal West District Police Commandos have arrested five hardcore cadres including three leaders of KCP (Ningamba Group) and recovered some arms and ammunitions, computers and a number of incriminating documents during counter insurgency operations conducted in different parts of the district and outside over the past one week.

The Ningbam Group of KCP is closely related to Thokchom Nando @ Nanao @ MK Mangang @ Ibungo (30), son of Th Subol of Khangbok Part-III Lamlong bazar who was recently re-arrested by Imphal West Disrict Police Commandos in connection with FIR No.262(6)2010 of IPS u/s 17/20 UA (P) Amdt.

Act & 25 (1-B) Arms Act, a press release issued today by Senior Superintendent of Police, Imphal West District, L Kailun revealed.

The five arrested cadres are General Secretary cum Organisation Secretary of KCP (President Ningamba Group), Khuraijam Ajit @ Khamba Luwang (42) of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi Thokchom Leikai, Publicity in-Charge of the same group, Moirangthem Mani (39) of Kongpal Mamang Sabal Leikai, Assistant Publicity in-Charge of the same group, RK Sanjeev Kumar of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Khumanthem Poireiton @ Poirei @ Thoibi (30) Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi Thokchom Leikai and Md Mujibur Shah @ Naocha @ Nanao @ John (32) of Hatta New Checkon road near Orient Hotel.

The police recovered one .32 pistol with a magazine containing three live rounds, one Chinese made handgrenade, three live rounds marked as KF7.65, one laptop computer, one Sony digital camera, memory card, camera battery, one desktop computer set, one pair of multimedia speaker and one moue, one computer printer, one book title as "Maniur Past and Present-Volume-2" written by Naorem Sanajaoba, one book title as "Outline History of Manipur (Kangleipak), one application addressed to General Secretary UNO, two CDs containing incriminating documents of KCP, one Gasoline generator and one Honda Activa without registration number.

The police also recovered seven blank demand letters of KCP, seven blank money receipt memos of KCP, one page of KCP written as "Memorandum to the United Nations", one format page of KCP Information & Public Relations Department having Kanglasa emblem, one demand letter of KCP (General Project) in the name of Ibungo Ngangom, Chief Project Officer, KCP, Manipur, one clarification note of KCP (Information & Public Relation Dept.) having Ref No.IPRD-25(07/08 dated july 26th 2008 addressed to the editors of local newspapers, Manipur in the name of Ibungo Ngangom, Secretary, Information and Public Relation Dept.

PLA cadre arrested: Meanwhile, the same district police commandos also arrested one PLA activist from near Mayanglangjing bazar yesterday around 10.13 am.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Chabungbam Hitler @ Nanao (25), Army No.3166 of 253 Battalion.

He is the son of Ch Nanda of Sagolband Moirang Leirak near Nepra Menjor.

One lethod bomb, one China-made handgrenade, four live rounds of 9mm, 12 live rounds of AK ammunition were seized from his possession, the Senior SP disclosed in a press.
