Imphal, January 08 2024: In pursuance of Chief Electoral Officer Manipur letter dated January 2, 2024, a District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) in respect of Imphal West District has been constituted in connection with the forthcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 .

The District Election Officer/DC, Imphal West District has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee while N Roshan, Assistant Publicity Officer, DIPR has been appointed as member secretary.

The Committee also included all Assistant Returning Officers of Imphal West District; Thokchom Jogendrajit Singh, News Editor of Regional News Unit, AIR, Imphal; Aribam Robindro Sharma, Editor, Poknapham; and Maibam Kubiheiba Meitel, ADIO, Imphal West as members.

The terms of reference for the MCMC of Imphal West shall be- Matters related to election related advertisements, paid news, cable network, etc; Matters related to usage of social media for election and complaints thereof; Compliance to ECI and CEO, Manipur's Instruction on MCMC from time to time.
