Leishemba Sanachaoba attends Gaan-Ngai festival

The Meetei Kabui Apunba Pari Puri Khongul Liba Lup (MEEKAL) celebrates Chakan Gaan-Ngai at Lilong Chajing Handball Ground today under the theme 'Unity, Integrity and Equality'.
Titular king of Manipur Meidingu Leishemba Sanajaoba presided over the celebration.
President Kabui Mothers Association Kokomlunglu Kamei, Amu Gangmei, retired lecturer M Kala and retired lecturer Th Hemchandra also attended the celebration as presidium members.
Speaking in the occasion, Meidingu Leishemba Sanajaoba said that people of the different communities residing in the state have forgotten their relation of brotherhood and became enemy on one another.
Such situations have become a major setback in the process of peacemaking and integrity.
No one from outside the state will bring any solution to the prevailing situation.
Only people of the state could bring a solution to the situation.
Trekking the lost link between the communities of the state is the prime importance to bring unity and peaceful development in the state.
Some individual and some organizations have begun their quest to find out the missing links of brotherhood among the different communities of the state.
That is why MEEKAL is organizing the Gaan-Ngai festival, Leishemba Sanajaoba said.
Social Worker Ningthoujam Hemanta presented Lengyanphi to leaders and elders of Meetei and Kabui communities.
He urged the people to strive for peaceful coexistence among the different communities of the state.
Kokomlunglu Kamei said that the mass participation of Meetei community to the Gaan-Ngai which is the most important festival of Kabui community will strengthen the relation between the two communities.
Although people of the state wet separate ways with the intrusion of other religions, such occasion will bring one another close to one another.
