Killer(s) should be ostracized : JAC

Imphal, January 24, 2011:
Demanding the state government to arrest the accused persons of killing Ningthoujam Rabei (32) of Tairenpokpi Mamang Leikai by January 30, the JAC against the killing resolved to ostracize any person from Tairenpokpi, Sairemkhul and Atong Khunou who is involved in the killing.
It may be mentioned that the dead body of Ningthoujam Rabei was found lying in a canal between Sairemkhul and Atong Khunou on January 23 at around 2 pm.
A public meeting was held today at Tairenpokpi Youth Development Club ground today in which residents of Tairenpokpi, Sairemkhul and Atong Khunou attended.
A JAC was formed against the killing in the meeting.
While condemning the gruesome killing of Rabei, residents of the three villages demanded the state government to investigate the matter and arrest the killer on or before January 30.They also demanded the state government to give ex-gratia to the decease's family before his last ritual.
The meeting further resolved to expel any person from the three villages who is involved in the killing.
The meeting also resolved to impose a fine of Rs 5000 to those who are found having the type of gun used in killing Rabei.
It further resolved that if anyone wants to use such gun, they should take prior permission from the clubs of the three villages.
According to his family members, Rabei was an innocent person who led a simple life by helping his parents.
He was a bachelor.
He went missing since Wednesday night when he went to a Thabal Chongba occasion at Atong Khunou.
His death body was found by one Ibochou in the canal which is at a distance of around 2 km from Raber's house.
His left head was missing as it was hit by a gun of big caliber.
Some injury marks were also found on his chest.
The body is lying in the RIMS mortuary now.
Police recovered an empty case of the gun.
Lamsang Police registered a case regarding the incident and investigated some persons from Atong Khunou.
