Imphal, January 24, 2011:
A three member team of BJP National leaders will be arriving here on January 28 on a two day visit to the State to probe the graft charges and other scandals involving Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and his Council of Ministers.
The BJP team would be led by the National vice-president and Lok Sabha MP Bijoya Chakraborty.
Other members of the team are BJP general secretary and former MP Tapirgao and National secretary Dr Kirit Somalya.
The team will investigate into all the graft charges and scandals reported by different sources in which the Chief Minister O Ibobi and his Council of Ministers have been named.
Speaking to media persons about the proposed investigation today, BJP state unit president Sh Shantikumar said that the BJP National leaders would be probing into the alleged misappropriation of around Rs 300 crores sanctioned for clearing phumdis from Loktak lake, the ruckus kicked up for the recruitment of Primary teachers in the Education Department and other graft charges.
The probe would give due reference to the report prepared after collecting information from different sources by a BJP fact finding committee against corruption.
The BJP leaders would also visit Loktak lake to collect a first hand account of the ongoing phumdi clearance work.
The proposed investigation into graft charges against the SPF Government was sanctioned by the BJP national executive committee during its meeting held at Guwahati recently, Sh Shantikumar said.
