Assassination of Kunjabihari Students protest with black badges

Along with raising slogans that the killing of Chairman of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur Dr N Kunjabihari is a challenge on the student community, students of schools and nursing institutes in Imphal West and Imphal East districts today protested by wearing black badges.
Responding to the call of three student bodies, AMSU, DESAM and MSF, students launched a black badge protest decrying the killing of Dr Kunjabihari and termed it as a challenge to the student community as a whole.
Talking to mediapersons in connection with the protest demonstration, assistant secretary of DESAM A Thoithoi, HRD secretary of AMSU N Dipanjit and auditor general of MSF M Bidharaj unanimously stated that student community strongly condemn the killing of Dr Kunjabihari in his own office room by unidentified armed persons.
The three student bodies have been demanding the Government and other UG groups to come out with a clarification on the killing.
The black badge protest began from today in Imphal East and Imphal West.
Similar black badge protest would be launched in Thoubal and Bishnupur district tomorrow.
It is said that the protest demonstration would continue till the Government identifies the killers and punished them befittingly.
The student leaders asserted that such killings would continue in future until and unless the student community and the general public at large make known their stand and shouted slogans in unison.
Setting January 27 as the deadline for the Government and other UG groups to come out with an explanation on the killing of Dr Kunjabihari, the three student bodies have also threatened to take recourse to various other intense form of agitations if the demand is not met.
The schools and nursing institutes where black badge protest were staged today including Royal Academy of Science (Wangkhei), Nightingale Nursing Institute (Porompat), The School of Nursing (Porompat), Halley English School (Soibam Leikai), L Chaobi Nursing Institution (Porompat), School of Community Nursing RDO ( Lamshang), Modern English High School (Ghari) and Comet School (Ghari).
