Imphal, January 24, 2011:
BJP national leaders are keeping an eye to the Congress led Secular Progressive Front government in Manipur.
A BJP team from New Delhi is arriving here on a two day visit on January 28 to enquire into the scams and corruption charges against the O Ibobi led SPF government, said BJP Manipur Pradesh president Sh Shantikumar today.
Shantikumar asserted that there is a scam in the implementation of the Rs. 224 crore phumdi clearance project of Loktak lake.
The high powered committee will verify a report of the scam submitted by a Fact Finding Committee of the BJP.
The committee had earlier visited Manipur and submitted a report on various scams and corruption charges levelled against the Chief Minister and his council of ministers.
Apart from scam in the phumdi clearance, the fact finding team had also submitted a report on the scam in the appointment of 1500 primary teachers in the Education Department.
This scam surfaced when Hueiyen Lanpao published the result of the DPC with alleged concealment of the result in the last minute.
The team led by vice president MP Bijoya Chakraborty will also include secretary, MP Kirit Somaiya, and general secretary Tapir Gao among others.
A verified report will be submitted to BJP president Nitin Gadkari who in turn will prepare a report to be tabled in the Parliament to press the Central government to take up appropriate action.
The BJP says the weakness of the Congress has made the people of the state to suffer from frequent impositions of economic blockades on the national highways.
Shantikumar added that the party will insist the Central government to find a policy for relieving the people of the state from its woes.
