Many condemn AR's excessive use of force

Strongly condemning the Assam Rifles' brutal assault on civilians at Pallel on September 8 which killed two persons and injured many, the All Manipur Nupi Marup has demanded a "High Level Court-martial Enquiry" against the personnel of 26 Sector Assam Rifles involved in the unfortunate incident.
In a release, All Manipur Nupi Marup accused the Assam Rifles of having a secret understanding with the Kuki militants and using excessive force against the Meitei civilians.
The Nupi Marup claimed that incidents of Assam Rifles obstructing the State police from discharging their duty and preventing attacks of Kuki militants against innocent civilians in Koutruk, Senjam Chirang, Kanto Sabal and Khongnangpokpi have even been published in local media and national media platforms.

The Nupi Marup also alleged that due to the strategic planning failure on different levels, the State Force and Central Forces have not been able to push back the Kuki militants from Naranseina in Bishnupur district even after 13 days since they unleashed an horrific attack with bombs and sophisticated weapon on August 28 last.
Meanwhile, Rural United Club Organisation (RUCO), Lamdeng Makha Leikai, under the aegis of AMUCO staged a sit in protest at the common building of Pioneer Club and Lamdeng Makha Leikai Women Development Association on Monday against the alleged atrocities committed by Assam Rifles on innocent Meitei civilians.
The sit-in protest cum meeting participated by Meira Paibis from three villages of Lamdeng area strongly condemned the excessive use of force by Assam Rifles resulting in the demise of two persons and injuring many others in Pallel on September 8 .
The Meira Paibis questioned whether the Assam Rifles is here to resolve the crisis or to attack Meitei civilians and demanded that Assam Rifles should be withdrawn from the State at the earliest.
