Poll preparedness intensifies in Chandel, Churachandpur

In continuation of the preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner (DEO/DC) Chandel chaired an all Nodal Officers meetings at the conference Hall DC complex today.
Earlier the DEO/DC also had a meeting with members of all political parties in his office chamber today.
During the meeting with the Nodal officers the DEO/DC took stock of the preparedness of all the different departments of the district for the upcoming election.
The DEO/DC, Chandel informed that in order to have a free and fair electoral process, around 11 companies of central Para military force will be deployed in different parts of the district and further stated that there will be 20 polling stations which will be manned by women only in the district in this coming election.
Speaking on the issues of displaced voters due to the present crisis, the DEO informed that any displaced voter who wishes to cast their vote at their respective relief camps should submit their application on the prescribed format to the DC office or to ARO or SDOs.
The meeting was attended by ADC Chandel, Additional SP, Chandel, SDOs, SDCs, all the nodal officers, and officials of the election office Chandel.
Earlier, the DEO/DC also had a meeting with the members of all political parties in his chamber.
While interacting with the representatives of the political parties, the DC urged them to help in conducting a free, fair and peaceful election in the district.
The DEO also discussed the necessities of changing the polling stations due to the present crisis in the State.
Churachandpur
DEO/DC Churachandpur Dharun Kumar today reviewed preparedness for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections 2024 at DC's Office, MiniSecretariat.
During the meeting, matters relating to the ensuing election such as modus operandi for arrangement of voting facilities for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)/specified voters at special polling stations to be set up in relief camps, material management, manpower managements etc were discussed.
The DEO instructed District Nodal Officers/AROs to expedite their assigned tasks swiftly and ensure that the preparations go on smoothly.
He also informed all to get prepared as elections notification may come out soon.
It may be mentioned that the Election Commission of India, after due consultation with the Central Government and State Government has directed that all displaced persons who had to leave their native places during the conflict shall continue to be borne on the electoral rolls of the assembly and parliamentary constituencies concerned.
The internally displaced electors or the specified voters shall be provided with the facility to vote at 'Special polling Stations' to be set up in relief camps.
At present the District has about 17,911 IDPs at 115 relief centres.
