Mema Memorial T-20 Cricket : SHADOW thump YCC by 4 wickets to seal quarterfinal berth

SHADOW, Thangmeiband registered a 4-wicket win over YCC, Wangkhei to finish Group C winners and qualify for the quarterfinals of the 1st Khomdrom (O) Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament being organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.
SHADOW restricted the toss winners YCC to 139/6 this morning despite Bindeshor scoring an unbeaten 69 off 48 balls and eased to the target in 19.3 overs with four wickets left to spare with Jayenta 41, Then Then 27, Chingkheinganba 19, Pyarlal 18 not out and Dhaneshor 11 leading the chase.
Gobin 27 and Bishorjit 10 also scored double digit runs for YCC in their innings which saw Jayenta (2/22) and Meiraba (2/28) of SHADOW sharing four wickets.
Dhawan and Bedamohon also picked up a wicket apiece for SHADOW.
SHADOW faced a tough time in the chase and were struggling at one point with Jayadev of YCC succeeding in claiming three wickets but Pyarlal 18 not out and Jagjit 7 not out put in a brave effort to set up the victory with three balls left to spare.
Sanjit, Bindeshor and Romesh also claimed a wicket apiece in a lost cause for YCC.
Jayenta of SHADOW who added 41 runs and picked two wickets was declared man of the match.
Later in the day, NAPSA, Kha Imphal beat YWC, Langthabal by 27 runs for the first win and to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.
NAPSA raised a commanding total of 177/3 courtesy of half centuries from Somorendro (67) and Bhogendro (61) and Ratan's unbeaten 26 before Johni dismantled YWC line up for a total of 150 runs with a five-for (5/16 in 3.3 overs) .
Ashokumar 37, Basu 35, Sasi 23 and Samananda were double digit run getters for YWC as 6 batters were dispatched cheaply.
Johni of NAPSA was adjudged man of the match.
