TCMDC capture 2nd MNCA Men's U-19 Tournament title

Imphal, March 05 2024:
TCMDC (Thongju II Pechu Lampak) beat KASC (Khomidok) by 5 wickets to win the 2nd MNCA Mens U-19 Tournament 2023-24 at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal on Tuesday.
TCMDC chased a target of 119 after a dominating bowling display by their bowlers.
Nepram Richer Singh triggered a KASC batting collapse, removing both openers Muhammad Ali Karim (3) and Bm Irfan (1) cheaply before he finished with a prized scalp of Md Aqeel (59), trapping him LBW.
Laishram Valindra Singh did his bit with 2 scalps while Rain Urikhimbam, Albert Sorokhaibam, Thomsan and Vishonath Laishram, who dismissed Bm Afsar for 22, each took one wicket.
TCMDC then surpassed KASC's score in 24 overs with contributions from Laishram Vivekananda Singh (26 not out), Pukhrambam Rohit Khuman (24), Takhellambam Nganba Meitei (17), Waik-hom Mathoi Meitei (15), Rain Urikhimbam (10), Thomsan (4) and Ringku Kangujam (2 not out) to get their hands on the tournament's trophy.
During the chase, the Thongju squad lost 3 wickets to Fm Sharif and one each to Md Aqeel and Bm Afsar.
Champions TCMDC pocketed a prize money of Rs 50,000 while KASC received Rs 30,000 .
KASC's Md Aqeel walked away with the man of the series and highest run-scorer titles, AKSDO's Saikhom claimed the highest wicket-taker award, and TCM-DC's Nepram Richer was named the player of the final match.
