AIM, SSU advance to Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Football tournament semis

Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM) and Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei made their ways into the semi-finals of the ongoing 14th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial Football Tournament.
In the first quarter final match, AIM beat TRAU 5-4 on penalties after playing out a 2-2 stalemate during the regulation time at SAI Football Turf, Takyel.
AIM led the first half 2-1 but TRAU fought back to salvage a 2-2 draw in the regulation and stretched the game to a penalty shoot-out.
AIM, however emerged the luckier team with Kh Jacky, Th Johnson, W Olenjit, I Deepak and Kh Raj all finding the target while only Sovami S, Kh Priyo, Annaroy S and Nimreiyo could convert for TRAU in the shoot-out.
Kh Raj (2') and Sh Boy (30') had found a goal apiece as Annroy S (12') and Nimreiyo (86') scored for the Kwakeithel team.
The second quarter final match between Classic FA and SSU also saw the two sides playing out a 2-2 draw during regulation time before the game was settled by penalty shoot-out wherein SSU came out 3-2 winners for a 5-4 finish.
Vs Thotkadhar Zimik (16') and S Rober (58') scored for Classic FA during normal time as L Kishan (16') and Y Zidan (24') found the net for SSU.
In the shoot-out, only A Brajamani and A Samson scored for the defending champions while Suraj Yumnam, S Amit Kumar and Th Premjit scored to hand the Singjamei outfit a 5-4 win.
Sagolband United will play YSWA in the next quarter final match tomorrow from 10 am before DMRAO play ESU from 1 pm in the last quarter final match.
