Public stage protests demanding security reinforcements at Moreh

Bishnupur/Thoubal, January 18 2024:
Decrying the unrestrained attacks on State forces by Kuki militants at Moreh, locals of Kakching staged a sit-in protest at Kakching Keithel Naohal Lai Mamang demanding deployment of additional security forces at the border town.
The gathering also observed a two-minute silence to pay their respects to the slain martyrs.
The sit-in protest was organised by Kakching Keithel Apunba Ima Lup and Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association.
The protestors raised many slogans showing the support of Kakching people to State forces, demanding additional reinforcements at Moreh, resignation of Unified Command chairperson Kuldiep Singh and advocating against the release of two individuals who were arrested in connection with the killing of Moreh SDPO Ch Anand.

Separately, demanding deployment of additional State security forces at strife torn Moreh, meira paibis staged torch rallies in different areas of Thoubal last night.
Tentha Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Charangpat Mamang Leikai Meira Paibi Lup staged torch rallies in their respective areas.
The rally goers also called for abrogation of the SoO agreement with Kuki militants.
Similarly, torch rallies were also staged in many parts of Bishnupur yesterday night demanding additional security at Moreh, abrogation of SoO pact and restoration of peace in Manipur.
The torch rallies were organised by various meira paibi organisations at Moirang, Ningthoukhong, Phubala Sunusiphai and Thanga.
At the end of the torch rally at Thanga, the rally goers observed a minute of silence to honour the State Security Force personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
