Shah summons minister Khemchand to Delhi

Imphal, July 01 2023: Following the people's disapproval to CM Biren's purported decision to resign from his post amid the prevailing crisis in the state and subsequent withdrawal of the decision on Friday; union home minister Amit Shah summoned RD&PR minister Yumnam Khemchand to Delhi.

Khemchand left for Delhi by an Air Asia flight around 5pm Saturday, while CAF&PD minister L Susindro (Yaima) also left for Delhi earlier in the day at 11 am .

However, according to a source, Susindro is on a personal visit.

The union home minister has also summoned other ministers to Delhi.

While Khemchand left on Saturday, there is no report of any other ministers leaving on the same day.

The reason behind the home minister summoning Khemchand to Delhi is unclear but it is speculated that he may have been asked to share his inputs to the central government with regard to the prevailing situation, the source conveyed.
