The Joint Action Committee against the brutal killing of Takhellambam Manoranjan Singh has submitted a memorandum to the Government today warning of intense agitation if its demands are not met by 2 pm of January 19 .
Takhellambam Manoran-jan Singh was killed in an attack launched by Kuki militants at Kangchup.
He was from Thiyam Konjin, Samananjing Leikai.
The JAC, in the memorandum, stated that the chairmanship of the Unified Command must be given to the Chief Minister.
It said the Central Government must scrap the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact it had signed with the "Kuki narco-terrorists" .
The Central Government must end its "divide and rule policy" in Manipur and implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) immediately, it said.
If the State Government is unable to face the attacks of the "Kuki narco-terrorists", the Chief Minister should resign from his post, it added.
The JAC stressed that the "ineffective" Central security forces must be removed from the State and the State security forces must be given additional power.
If these demands are not met by 2 pm of January 19, the JAC along with CSOs and the people of the State will launch intense agitations, it said.
