Imphal, January 18 2024:
Saying that the aggression of Kukis is not only against the Meiteis but the entire Manipur, former rebel leader RK Meghen has called on all the people of Manipur to stand together and protect every inch of land of the State.
He also said that the Manipuris shouldn't sacrifice even an inch of the State's territory as long as there is a drop of blood running in their veins.
RK Meghen made the remarks during a public meeting held under the theme "The role and responsibility of the public in contemporary Manipur" at Konthoujam today.
The meeting was organised by the People Protection Committee Konthoujam.

At the meeting, the former rebel leader continued that the current situation of Manipur is similar to that of Burmese invasion of 1819 which led to widespread chaos, violence, and loss of life.
Saying that the people of Manipur must analyse why Kukis launched a total war against the Meiteis only recently, RK Meghen maintained that every Manipuri both men and women must be prepared now to face the onslaught in an appropriate manner.
He continued that an in-depth discussion should be held and figure out what men and women can do to safeguard Manipur.
Saying that the aggression of Kukis is not only against the Meiteis but also against the unity of Manipur, RK Meghen said that the onslaught of Kukis will continue as they have a broader vision to snatch a piece of Manipur land and make it theirs.
A strong resolution and a commitment of the people is needed to protect Manipur, he said and added that Meiteis must take a collective resolution to stand against any attempt to disintegrate Manipur even if only one of them is alive. He also questioned the inability of the large companies of Central forces being deployed in Manipur to stop the onslaught of Kukis.
