Elite cricket: PTRC thrash FORCE to register third win on the trot

Imphal, May 09 2022:
PTRC (Patsoi) handed out a crushing 152-run defeat to FORCE (Kshetrigao) in a Group A match of the 6th MNCA Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Monday.
PTRC elected to bat first and amassed a mammoth 243/10 in the stipulated 40 overs.
The Patsoi side's innings saw Chingakham Bidash Meitei and Ngariyanbam Johnson take centre stage as the duo combined racked up 183 runs.
Bidash smashed an unbeaten 83 off 49 balls and Johnson hit 80 off 74 balls.
Gemson Mutum did his bit with 44 and Shapam Kenjit contributed 11.PTRC then needed 22.2 overs to bowl out FORCE for a meagre 91 .
Khaidem Joyraj Meitei turned out to be the chief destroyer whose six-over spell earned him 41 wickets as Shapam Kenjit and Ngariyanbam Johnson picked 2 wickets each, with Khangembam Santosh and Khwairakpam Rinju chipping in with one apiece to help their side seal a comprehensive victory.
It was PTRC's third win on the trot.
The result sees them well placed at the top of Group A table with 6 points from 3 matches.
Earlier in the match, Khushru Pravez and Mushir Alam claimed 3 scalps each while Pravesh and Tashib Alam took one each for FORCE.
With his 80-run knock and 2 wickets, Ngariyanbam Johnson walked away with man-of-the-match trophy.
