MPCC election on May 15

Imphal, May 09 2022:
Polling for election of new office bearers of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee's different units/primary committees would be held on May 15 .
May 7 was the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers while scrutiny has been scheduled on May 10 .
Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan here today, MPCC Returning Officer and former MP Pratap Bhanu said that nomination papers may be withdrawn till May 12 .
This would be followed by the second phase of election on May 31 which is for block level committees.
PCC members, block presidents, vice-presidents, treasurers and DCC delegates would be elected on May 31 for which nomination papers may be submitted till May 20, Pratap Bhanu said.
Scrutiny will be held on May 23 while May 27 has been fixed as the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers.
Voting would begin at 7 am and continue till 4 pm.
In connection with the scheduled election, a membership drive concluded on April 15 during which approximately one lakh new members were enrolled, Pratap Bhanu said.
CLP leader Okram Ibobi and MPCC president K Meghachandra were also present at the press meet.
