JNIMS director appeals to maintain cleanliness

JNIMS director professor L Deben has appealed to the public visiting the hospital to maintain cleanliness by discarding waste materials at designated places.
Addressing a press meet at his office here on Monday, the director said that the hospital authority has been taking up various initiatives under the aegis of chief minister N Biren in order to provide the best healthcare facilities to the people.
As part of these initiatives, new infrastructures have been added in the newly established accident and trauma centre, he said.
In a bid to provide a clean and safe environment to the patients, the hospital authority as taking up initiatives like plantation of flowers and fruit bearing trees, pathway renovation, drainage repairing and installation of dustbins at multiple locations.
The director reiterated appeal to the people visiting the hospital to dispose waste materials including plastic bottles in the dustbins instead of littering.
At the same time, spitting after consuming tobacco has also become a major problem in keeping the hospital environment clean, he noted and cautioned that penalty will be imposed against such persons if hospital security personnel come across them.
Professor L Deben further urged the visitors to park their vehicles in designated parking lots.
Disorderly parking on the pathway of ATC often creates disturbances to patients requiring emergency service.
Keeping in view of the disturbances caused by such disorderly parking, the hospital authority will start collecting fine from such vehicle owners who park their vehicles outside the parking lots.
He also appealed to all concerned to refrain from pasting posters not related with government's awareness campaigns on the walls and inside the hospital complex.
Later, the director visited different wards of the hospital and asked runners' of private laboratories to stop collecting samples from inside the hospital ward.
