Imphal, May 09 2022:
As a part of its initiative to streamline the education system in the State, Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) conducted inspection visits at various schools under School Fagathansi Mission.
KSA in a press release stated that various anomalies have been found during the visit and termed it really unfortunate.
KSA found that there were inadequate teachers in many schools as compared to the student strength and at certain schools there were no teachers for students from class 6 to 8 .
The student body also came across that higher secondary teachers were teaching the primary students due to shortage of teachers and owing to which some schools are unable to conduct classes properly as required.
Considering the dilapidated buildings and infrastructures of certain schools under the mission, KSA expressed that there is a high possibility that the funds sanctioned under the mission might have been misappropriated since the heads and principals concerned are unable to provide related documents for the same.
In view of the above anomalies, KSA has urged the authorities concerned and the Education Minister to look into the matter at the earliest to ensure that the School Fagathansi Mission is implemented effectively in the interest of the students.
