Chief Minister feted at Yangkhullen

Chief Minister N Biren Singh was felicitated at Yang-khullen village, Senapati district today .
The felicitation programme was organised by the Zeme Literature Society, Manipur under the aegis of the Zeme Naga Council Manipur.
Addressing the function, N Biren expressed his appreciation for the people of Yangkhullen and Bendramei villages for preserving the jungle cover in their area and assured construction of a football ground under the Green Manipur Mission as reward.
The CM also assured to apprise and urge the Central Government immediately to declare Ze-Mnui (Yangkhullen) village as a 'Heritage Village' .
Further calling upon the people to preserve their heritage, the CM also assured all possible assistance from the Government and to send experts from the Archaeology Department for preservation works.
He stressed that the Government had allocated Rs 3 crore for the preservation of the heritage site at Yangkhullen, adding that he couldn't see proper execution of the same.
Further, he instructed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a detailed report of the same and warned that anyone found misusing funds wouldn't be spared.
The CM also explained Government schemes, urging the public to come out and avail of the benefits provided.
He added that the State Government had launched the 'Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang' (CMHT) on May 1, 2018 which provides health insurance to poor people of the State.
He further expressed satisfaction as 30 people from the village would be able to avail the benefits of the scheme as they were delivered CMHT cards during the day's programme.
The Go to Hills Mission was launched to bridge the developmental gap between the hill and valley, he said.
He further explained the appointment of IAS and MCS officers as Prabharis for the sub-divisions of the State and introduced L Nandakumar Singh, who was appointed as the Prabhari for Willong sub-division.
Meanwhile, the CM also looked into the memorandum submitted and assured all possible actions.
The memorandum includes the establishment of a police station in the area, police outpost, construction of roads, water supply project, and upgradation of Yangkhullen Primary Health Centre to Community Health Centre among others.
He further assured of setting up a mobile network tower in the area.
Zeme Let textbooks for Classes 9 and 10 were released as part of the programme and GIS sheets were distributed to 46 beneficiaries (5 bundles per beneficiary), CMHT cards to 30 beneficiaries and gas cards to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries.
The CM also stressed the need to develop Dzuko Valley to attract visitors.
He further expressed his gratitude to the villagers for their hospitality, love, and care.
The function was also attended by Awangbow Newmai, Minister Water Resources, Relief and Disaster Management, Manipur, Thounaojam Basanta, Minister Education, Law & Legislative Affairs, Manipur, Losii Dikho, MLA 48-Mao AC, J Kumo Sha, MLA 47 Karong AC, Government officials and village chiefs, among others.
