PTRC steamroll REYS in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, April 25 2022:
PTRC (Patsoi) pummelled REYS (Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai) by 171 runs in their Group A match in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Electing to bat, PTRC posted a competitive total of 245/8 in the stipulated 40 overs.
Khangembam Santosh stole the show, racking up 103 off 103 balls for the Patsoi side.
Jotin Pheiroijam (28), Ngariyanbam Johnson (22), Loitongbam Shitaljit (19), Khwairakpam Rinju (18 not out) and Ngariyanbam Johnson (12) were other contributors in the innings.
Then it was all up to the PTRC bowlers whose collective effort left REYS' batting order in tatters as the Khwai Nagamapal team ended up managing just 74 runs in 30.2 overs.
S Jayanta (17) and Ngangom Rajesh (12) were the only batters who could score in double digits in their run chase.
PTRC's bowling attack saw Jotin Pheiroijam, Shapam Kenjit, Rohit Sharma, Abit Hijam and Ngariyanbam Johnson pick two wickets each tb help their side get their campaign off to a resounding start.
Earlier, Elangbam Joy chandra and Kiran Laishram claimed three wickets each as Sapam Bikash took one for REYS.
Khangembam Santosh, who scored 103 runs, walked away with the man-of-the-match trophy.
AL-Meen and CHAMP will go up against each other on Tuesday, April 26 .
